Welcome to our 15th season of Shamba Shape Up!

This week we are in Kagari in Embu County visiting farmer Ruth Wanja and her Son Brian Mwenda.

Ruth has 2 and ¼ acres, she has cows and chicken and grows fodder. Her son who is a teacher helps by investing n and working on the farm. She keeps chicken in batches, two weeks apart, broilers. She also has kienyeji chicken. She loses many birds as she gets substandard chicks. This Week we are learning about:

1. What Kenchic’s poultry centers have to offer.

2. The best way to feed your dairy cows.

3. How women farmers can grow with the Women Farmers Association of Kenya.

4. Tips for breeding healthy cows.
