Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Series 16!
This week we are in Nkubu in Meru county and we are visiting a young farmer Ken Kinoti.
He studied nursing at Chuka university, started chicken business as a side hustle while in university. Took it up more comprehensively after university. He has a hatchery where he sells day old improved kienyeji chicks to the farmers in the community as well as broods for some weeks until he gets market. Currently building his own house with the proceeds from the farming business. Does the chicken rearing with his mother. He has his own restaurant outlets for selling the chicken and he also keeps pigs.
