Series 16 - Ep 19: Calf Care, Brush Cutter and Shamba ni Biz Drama
Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Series 16!
We are in Elburgon, Nakuru County and we are visiting a young farmer, Dennis Kemboi.
Dennis used to work in a milk co-operative before deciding to venture into dairy farming. He took over 3 cows from his mother and his grandmother gifted him 2. He has been able to grow this into a herd of 22, giving him about 200 litres of milk per day. He grows napier, lucerne and maize for silage. He also has potatoes. He has chicken and sheep and says the main challenge is water and feed quality.
In this farm we are learning about:
- How to give your calf the best start in life with the right feeding and care from day one.
- Discover a smart, faster way to cut fodder grasses for your livestock and clear bushes around your farm with ease
- On Shamba Ni Biz... the gloves are off! Following Musa's burial, the battle over the family land is heating up. As long-held beliefs about inheritance are challenged, the family is forced to confront difficult questions about fairness, tradition, and the future of the land.
Who will come out on top? And can this family find a way forward?
