This week we are in Miwani, Kisumu county, just below below the Nandi hills

on this 4 acre shamba run by retired civil servant and now farmer Joshua Ochieng and his very ambitious son Joseph Omondi

The dad has really tried his hand at farming, but its like at every turn, something goes wrong. The dad is finally handing over to Joseph to see if he can make it work. Joseph is young and enthusiastic about it.

they have a lot more under sugar cane. It all used to be a sugarcane plantation but they have been slowly changing the 4 acres. The area is prone to flooding and around them, there are not many trees.

We are going to learn about:

  1. The right way to start rearing Chicken.
  2. The best solutions to climate change and how to adapt.
  3. How to make some money growing trees and best trees to plant in your area.
