Series 2 - Episode 1 - The Funeral

We are off the main road, deep in the interior. A CROWD of mourners surrounds a fresh mound of earth. A wooden cross read: MUSA SABIRI (1963–2026). The sun is dipping lower, casting long, sharp shadows across the dry earth. The crowd has migrated to the main compound, their murmur a distant hum. ISSA walks back toward the fresh mound of earth, to the foot of the grave. He stands there for a long moment. He looks small against the vastness of the landscape. SHANI is walking back from the grave, her steps heavy. Sheis exhausted.Suddenly, a SHOUT rips through the air. Then the sound of a door slamming.
