Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Uganda!

Today we’re in Kikoko village, in Wakiso district to visit 2 farmers Atai Stella and Deborah Asege.

Today is a special day, we are meeting a farmer who is using innovative ways to access farming resources. She is a youth farmer and has also collaborated with other female farmers to access land for agriculture.

With high cost of living youth sometime fail to get access to land and resources but that didn’t stop Stella.

The main challenge for her are:

• Drought and how to manage water retention in here vegetable garden.

• the proper way of planting vegetables. • Her maize looks stunted and needs better
farming management.

• She has three children to feed and mainly uses charcoal and firewood for cooking.

Let’s go see how she does it.

We are learning about:

1. How to practice better farming.

2. Plantation to get the best harvest.

3. What nutritious food you can prepare for your children.

4. How to cook in a safe, fast and cheaper way.
