Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Uganda!
Today we’re in Awuki village, Agoga Parish, Okwera sub county, Dokolo district and we’re visiting Okodi Tonny his two wives and they have 8 children.
Tonny is a successful organic farmer and his farm covers 10 acres, for now he has sunflower but he also grows soya bean, sim sim, cotton, Shia seeds, maize, and ground nuts.
Blessed with abundant water from lake Kwania, Tonny also grows Onions, tomatoes and egg plants year-round using his irrigation system.
We are learning about:
1. The best agronomic practices of growing Sunflower.
2. The principles and practices of organic agriculture as a Group.
3. Organic Farming: What inputs are allowed in the garden especially if you find pests or diseases.
4. How can Aflasafe prevent the spread of aflatoxin in Ground nuts.
