Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Uganda!

We’re in Njira village, Kitatsi Sub County in Kiruhura District and we’re visiting Muhumuza Jackson, a 35-year-old farmer. He lives with his wife Atuhaire Winnie, and they are happy to welcome their 3 months old baby.

Jackson lives on the 150-acre farm with his extended family, and on it they rear cattle, goats and sheep, and they grow Maize, Bananas, cassava, beans and Napier grass.

We are going to learn about:

1. How to get rid of the Sporobolus weed in the grazing fields.

2. How we take care of our calves (young stock management).

3. Climate Smart Agriculture Banana Plantation.

4. Record Keeping/ cost profit analysis.
