Series 3 - Ep 17: Pasture, Climate Smart , Artificial Insemination and Value Addition

This week we are in in Ruhumba Trading Centre cell Kabale Ward Ruvindu-Ruhumba town council in the north of Mbarara District to meet 60 year old Farmer Tayebwa Jane.
Jane is married to Tayebwa Benon, they have 5 children, and they call this 40-acre property home.
On the farm she grows bananas, coffee, animal fodder and rears cattle.
After applying for early retirement from her job as a principle Human Resource manager Jane settled back in the village to become a full-time farmer and went straight to work.
We are going to learn about:
1. How to use integrated pasture management by planting improved pastures and control the spread of Sporobolus.
2. How Coffee and Banana intercrop can be prepared for the harsh dry seasons.
3. How to increase milk production by getting better breeds using Artificial Insemination.
