Series 3 - Ep 2: Beans, Goat Shed, Pasture and Kitchen Garden

Welcome to Shamba Shape Up Uganda!

We are in the savannah plains of Mbarara also known as the cattle corrido. This region is famous for its long-horned cattle, milk and honey.

We will be meeting a farmer who needs our help and expert advice.

We're in Rwengeru North Village, Mbarara District, paying a visit to Susan Mutambuze. She's 36 years old, married to Mutambuze Rogers, and they have five kids. They call a 30-acre piece of land their home. Rogers is often away for work, which means Susan is the one taking care of the farm and looking after an extended family of 15 with her mother-in-law, nieces, nephews and uncles.

We are Learning about:

1. The importance of doing a soil test.

2. How to build a good goat shed.

3. How to plant better grass for the animals.

4. How to set up a small Kitchen garden to grow some veggies.
