Series 2 - Ep 11: Fish farming, Maize, Fall Army Worm, Pests and diseases and Cabbage

Welcome to Munda Make Over!

We have travelled all over Zambia to find hard working farmers. We want to share their success stories with farmers across the country and where there are challenges, we will bring experts to help them gain the extra knowledge they need.

So, they can adapt and make their farms more productive, even while the climate changes. We want to support them to get better yields and increase their income.

We will see how farmers from across the country can benefit from our expert’s advice. While also learning from each other, in so many ways.

Join us on these journeys and share in the farmers experiences as they improve their farms. On Munda Make Over.

This week we’re in Lilayi in Lusaka province and we’re visiting Chiteu Muyoya.

We can’t wait to meet our farmer today, I think it’s going to be a really fun makeover. Chiteu is married with 2 children who both love strawberries, Liseho age 6 and Oarona aged 9.

It’s Chiteu who’s in charge of the farm, with around 12 acres to look after.

Her main crops are maize and cabbage, but she’s started constructing a fish pond as well.

Let’s see how we can help.

1. How to construct a fish pond.

2. How to manage pest (Fall Army Worm) each cropping (Maize) season.

3. How to get rid of diamondback moth in cabbages.
