This week we’re visiting farmer and agrovet Mweemba Grey, in Lukoshi, Chisamba District, Central Province.

Grey is an Agrovet as well as a farmer himself. He also has demo plots to show customers how seeds are growing. His farm cover 22 hectares, he is 58 years old. He has cattle, free range chicken, Onion, Okra, Rape.

He is an agro dealer. He provides soil testing services. He provides demo plots for different organisations including One Acre Fund, he has a demo plot for Musangu trees, has planted Muringa trees as boundary trees and he is an LBO (Latrine Business Owner).

We are learning about:

1. Agroforestry - We discuss the benefits of intercropping trees into cropping systems.

2. Crop Rotation - We discuss whether crop rotation can work in an agroforestry system - and examples of suitable rotations.

3. Climate Smart Seeds (Soya Beans) - They offer stable yields amidst low rainfall.

4. Finance – Access to Credit.
